My vision for this painting was to evoke a sense of Gentle, Light, Airy, and Whimsical. The understated daisy, with its simple beauty, proved to be the perfect wildflower for this canvas. The blend of dusky pinks and olive greens adds a touch of vintage charm, while the clean, uncomplicated composition provides a contemporary feel. The wispy grass further enhances the light and airy atmosphere, creating a serene and whimsical scene that captivates without overwhelming the viewer. For parts of this canvas, I used the acrylic paint in a manner similar to watercolour techniques, building up layers of colour washes to achieve the softness and colour I desired in the sky and meadow background. As subsequent layers of detail were added, a sense of depth emerged—as if you could simply reach out and pick a daisy
