A Little Bit About Me..

I’m Rachel Ryan, an artist originally from the UK. After many years living in Ireland, I now call a small mountain village in Cyprus home. My art is rooted in a lifelong love of nature and the quiet moments it offers. From fragile wildflowers to expansive meadows, I paint the landscapes that inspire me, bringing their beauty and calm into your home.

I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember, inspired by my father, who loved sketching and painting. One of my earliest memories is borrowing his oil paints to create a picture of my Wendy house. Watercolour was my first love, allowing me to capture delicate textures, tiny flowers, grasses, and the subtle moods of nature. Today, I mainly work in acrylics and watercolour, letting each painting evolve intuitively without reference photographs. My paintings are gentle, light, and reflective, often incorporating symbolic plants to convey calm, contemplation, and connection to the natural world.

Most mornings, I take walks in the Cyprus mountains with my dog, Harry, often with my camera in hand. I love capturing the light, textures, and seasonal changes that later inspire my paintings. Visits to the UK and Ireland also give me fresh inspiration, connecting my art to the landscapes that shaped my early years.

Now I paint full-time, focusing on meadowscapes and nature-inspired scenes that feel peaceful, dreamlike, and brimming with quiet energy. I’m always exploring colour, texture, and symbolic elements, hoping my work invites you to pause, reflect, and connect with the beauty of the natural world.
